Controlling OUH Heaters
OUH heaters are best controlled using a tamperproof Electronic Control Device from BN Thermic’s Hard Case range. Hard Case’s tamperproof design ensures that only authorised personnel can adjust the temperature setting.
Each heater will be controlled by an individual Hard Case Electronic Control Device generally mounted immediately below the heater at approximately 1.5m above floor level. This is an energy saving approach allowing the control system to take into account differing conditions in different parts of the building. The use of dedicated electronic control devices also keeps installation time to a minimum.
We offer 3 control packages

Programmable Package with Set-Back
Standard Control Package
- Control is by means of a Hard Case HC-T2 Tamperproof Electronic Control Device
- Access to temperature adjustment requires an HC-D tool ensuring that only authorised personnel can adjust settings
- An integral switch allows authorised personnel to select between two temperature scales: 0-12⁰C for frost protection or 12-25⁰C for comfort heating.
Components
HC-T2 Hard Case Tamperproof Electronic Control Device (one per heater)
HC-D Hard Case Tool (required to access temperature settings)

- An integral switch allows authorised personnel to select between two temperature scales: 0-12⁰C for frost protection or 12-25⁰C for comfort heating.
- A TIM-D1 24 hour/7 day programmable timer will ensure that the heating system is not energised while the building is unoccupied (typically at night and at weekends).
- The programmable timer has a built-in run-down clock that is triggered by the TIM-B1 remote mounted ‘boost button’. This feature will provide a temporary temperature boost for a pre-determined length of time during a period when the system would normally be ‘off’. The boost command can be cancelled by depressing the ‘boost button’ for 3 seconds.

Programmable Package with Set-Back
- Control is by means of a Hard Case HC-ST2 Tamperproof Electronic Control Device
- Access to temperature adjustment requires an HC-D tool ensuring that only authorised personnel can adjust settings
- The HC-ST2 has two adjustable settings: high (comfort) and low (set-back).
- A TIM-D1 24 hour/7 day programmable timer will ensure that the heating system operates at its low (set-back) setting while the building is unoccupied (typically at night and at weekends).
- The programmable timer has a built-in run-down clock that is triggered by the TIM-B1 remote mounted ‘boost button’. This feature will provide a temporary temperature boost for a pre-determined length of time during a period when the system would normally be in set-back mode.
