F-BOARD
INSULATED TILE BACKER BOARDS
EHC - Heating Cable
Underfloor heating cables - ceramic/stone floor
Application
EHC cables are designed to heat stone or ceramic floors. They can be installed in a screed or directly into the tile adhesive and are ideally suited to irregular shaped areas.
In poorly insulated properties supplementary heating may be required.
Features
- Cable covered by 10 year warranty.
- Supplied with high adhesive tape.
- The 4mm diameter cable keeps the increase in floor height to a minimum.
- 3m cold lead.
- As the cable is not fixed to a web it is easy to cope with irregular features such as bay windows and kitchen islands
Selection
Firstly calculate the area of the floor to be heated. This will be the total floor area minus the area occupied by fixtures such as cupboards, sinks, baths etc.
You will see that each EHC cable has a stated minimum and maximum floor surface area. The answer to your calculation will fall between the minimum and maximum areas of one of the cables.
If you are unsure of the exact area to be heated and your estimate falls close to the maximum area of one kit and the minimum area of another, we suggest you select the smaller of the two cables.
Choice of Thermostat
Select from four thermostats
A16C Manual thermostat providing selection of air and floor sensor or floor sensor only
G16C Programmable digital thermostat with air and floor sensor
F16C Programmable digital thermostat with floor sensor only (generally used for bathrooms)
T13C W Programmable touch screen (white surround) providing selection of air and floor sensor or floor sensor only
T13C S Programmable touch screen (silver surround) providing selection of air and floor sensor or floor sensor only

For larger areas use a combination of EHC cables.
Insulation
To prevent downward heat loss, we recommend that ECK kits are installed onto F-Board insulation. F-Board is low-profile insulated tile backer board.
Application
F-Board Tile Backer Boards should be used wiith BN Thermic EHM & ECK electric underfloor heating systems. Installed directly on to the sub-floor and immediately beneath the tiles themselves, they provide exceptional thermal insulation with a minimal increase in floor height.
The boards can be installed onto wooden or concrete sub-floors and will significantly reduce the running costs of an underfloor heating system.
Selection
F-Board-6 (6mm thick)
Provides an extremely effective insulation barrier where build-up must be kept to a minimum.
F-Board-10 (10mm thick)
As the effectiveness of insulation increases with thickness, F-Board-10 should be selected where maximum economy is required and the additional floor build-up is acceptable.
Features
- Full resistance to moisture absorption
- Unique combination of low profile, strength and thermal efficiency
- Lightweight and easily cut to shape
- Easily fixed in place using standard tile adhesive
Specification
| Model No. | Dimensions per board | Total area covered per board | Thermal Conductivity |

| F-Board-6 | 1200mm x 600mm x 6mm | 0.72m² | 0.027W/mºK |
| F-Board-10 | 1200mm x 600mm 10mm | 0.72m² | 0.027W/mºK |
