BLC MOUNTED UNDER A CHURCH PEW

BLC MOUNTED UNDER A CHURCH PEW

BLC

Low level convector heaters

Application

When mounted at skirting level, the BLC range offers an unobtrusive method of providing comfort heat in areas such as corridors, meeting rooms and offices. The BLC is frequently used to solve the almost unique problems associated with heating a church.  Infrequent and irregular use, high roofs and special aesthetic considerations mean that conventional heating systems are rarely effective or economically viable.  However BLC convector heaters fixed to the back board of the pews, directly under the seat, provide the level of warmth needed to keep the congregation comfortable without the need to pre-heat the building.

Features

  • Robust steel construction with almond (RAL 9001) paint finish
  • Autoreset over temperature protection
  • Electrical connections may be made at either end of heater

Control options

  • Built-in control thermostat with external adjustment. Ref. BLC-TB-13
  • Wall mounted thermostat controlling a total load of up to 2kW directly or larger loads via a suitably rated contactor or relay. Ref. RST-IN
  • Wall mounted (semi-recessed), 7 day programmable, electronic thermostat controlling a load of up to 3kW directly or larger loads via a suitably rated solid state relay or contactor.  When using a contactor we recommend that a suitable snubber is installed in the control circuit.   Ref. H16C
  • Wall mounted self-contained proportional controller, conrolling a maximum load of 3.6kW.  This device will ensure that a heater or group of heaters delivers the exact percentage of total output needed to maintain the required air temperature.  Ref. MC-16

Other options

  • Open-ended safety guard for use when heaters are used under pews and there is a need to prevent fingers from touching the heating elements.  The guard is fitted at floor level thus preventing hands form accessing the base of the heater.  The guards can be easily cut to length, have a robust construction and a dark brown RAL8014 finish. Ref. BLC-SG
  • Brown (RAL 8014) paint finish - frequently used in churches.  Add suffix 'B' to model number
  • Pair of brackets for floor mounting Ref. BLC-FB
