Trench heaters
Application
As only the aluminium grille remains visible, TH trench heaters provide an extremely discreet method of combating the downdraught associated with glazed walls and large windows. They can also provide supplementary, and in many instances primary, space heating.
The heaters can be installed end-on-end to form a continuous heating system where necessary employing 90° corner sections and ‘adjust to length’ unheated dummy sections.
Features
- Robust construction - designed to take foot traffic
- 1.2mm thick steel case with black internal finish
- Rigid anodised aluminium cross blade grille with matching support frame removable for cleaning purposes
- Levelling feet (-0/+40mm) to allow for irregularities in the floor of the trench
TH-03 & TH-05 - Heated sections - Specific features
- Steel sheathed heating elements with spiral wound cooling fins to promote efficient heat transfer
- Cool air inlet and warm air discharge through floor level grille. There is no requirement for an air supply to the recessed section of the heater
- Mesh screen positioned below the grille to prevent foreign objects dropping into the heaters
- Auto reset over temperature protection device with back-up manual reset device
THD - Unheated section - Specific features
- Unheated section adjustable in length between 800mm and 300mm
- Indistinguishable from heated models
- Regularly spaced serrations allow the case to be easily cut to length
- Final length adjustment is made using the sliding end sections which are then riveted in place
THC - Unheated corner section - Specific features
- Allows a run of heaters to be installed around a 90° bend
- necessary fixings supplied to mechanically fix to adjacent trench heaters

Control options
- Built-in adjustable mechanical thermostats can be fitted to both TH-03 and TH-05 (add suffix T to model number)
- Wall mounted thermostat controlling a total load of up to 2kW directly or larger loads via a suitably rated contactor or relay Ref. RST-IN
- Wall-mounted (semi-recessed), 7 day programmable electronic thermostat controlling a load of up to 3kW directly or larger loads via a suitably rated solid state relay or contactor. When using a contactor, we recommend that a suitable snubber is installed in the control circuit Ref. H16C
- Wall-mounted self-contained proportional controller controlling a maximum load of 3.6kW. This device will ensure that a heater or group of heaters delivers the exact percentage of total output needed to maintain the required air temperature Ref. MC-16
- Grille and grille frame can be powder coated to suit the décor of the building (consult our Sales Office)
