Self regulating pipe freeze protection cables
Application
CCSRJ cables are designed to prevent water pipes from freezing. They should be installed directly onto the pipe under a layer of insulation. The output of a self regulating cable will automatically adjust to suit the prevailing conditions. The cable can be cut and terminated to length, T jointed and spliced for more complex installations and overlapped without fear of overheating.

Control options
- Frost thermostat for indoor use. Although the output of the cable will decrease as the temperature around it decreases it does not have a mechanism to switch itself off completely. Therefore an energy saving frost thermostat is recommended. The FST-IN will switch directly loads up to 10 amps (2.3kW 230V). Ref. FST-IN
- Frost thermostat for outdoor use. The FST-EX has the same characteristics as the FST-IN but is housed in a weatherproof enclosure, conforming to IP65, and can be located outdoors. Ref. FST-EX
Other Options
- CCSRJ cable can be ordered by the metre up to a maximum length of 30m. Add suffix ‘CL’ to product code
- Termination kit consisting of the necessary crimps, sleeving, shrink-on material and cable gland to terminate both ends of a single run of CCSRJ cable Ref. CCSRJ-T1 (can be ordered as a pack of 5: Ref. CCSRJ-T5)
- Splice kit consisting of the necessary crimps, sleeving and shrink-on material to join two lengths of CCSRJ cable or to make a T joint. Ref. CCSRJ-S
- Aluminium tape to be installed under the heating cable when applying to plastic pipes. The tape comes in a 45m roll and will dissipate the heat over the surface of the pipe. Ref. AL-50
- Pack of 10 caution labels to be fitted to the outer cladding to warn of the presence of heating cable. Ref. 0010-007
