- Fan heaters for direct mounting into a 600 x 600 ceiling grid
- Ideal for heating shops because the heaters do not occupy valuable wall and floor space
- Supplied complete with egg-crate grille
- Optional controller for variable output and fan only settings

|Model||kW||Volts||Built-in Thermostat||List Price|
An SCH fan heater provides simple and reliable heating in a car service reception area
Heater specifically designed for integration into a suspended ceiling grid
Each heater can be controlled by one wall-mounted controller and/or one thermostat
Do not use room thermostat with ‘T’ suffix models as these heaters already have a built-in thermostat with ‘open window detection’ feature.
6kW heaters have a built-in relay meaning that the minimum switching capacity of a suitable thermostat is reduced to 10A

|Thermostat||Electronic programmable thermostat with optimum start function 6A||PROSTAT2||£100.00|
|Thermostat||Electronic programmable thermostat with optimum start and open window detection functions 16A||RT16||£113.00|
|Thermostat||Mechanical thermostat 20A||RST2-IN||£94.00|

|Timer||Programmable 7-day timer 13A||PROTIM-7||£148.00|
A contactor can be used to enable a thermostat or timer to switch a load larger than its switching capacity.
|Colour:||Exposed surfaces white RAL9016
Other surfaces zinc plated steel
|Finish:||Epoxy polyester powder coating|
|Construction:||0.9mm steel case
Aluminium air diffuser in brilliant white
|Fan Assembly:||Tangential fan with low noise aluminium fan blades
Shaded pole high performance motor
Factory lubricated bearings (servicing not required)
|Heating Element:||High quality nickel-chrome resistance wire supported by ceramic plates and fitted with an automatically resetting over-temperature device|
|Control (models with built-in thermostat)||
Temperature control by factory fitted electronic thermostat with panel front adjustment
Default mode – built-in thermostat switches heat and fan. This can be changed so thermostat switches heat only with fan running continuously.
Can be controlled by CS-7 wall mounted controller for on/off/high heat/low heat and fan only settings
The built-in thermostat has an ‘open window detection’ feature
|Control (models without built-in thermostat)||
Temperature control can be provided by a room thermostat
Can be controlled by CS-7 wall mounted controller for on/off/high heat/low heat and fan only settings. CS-7 can be used in conjunction with a room thermostat
|Installation:||Designed to rest in the T-bar of a 600 x 600 suspended ceiling grid
Recommended mounting heights 2.5m to 4m above floor level (see table below)
|Model||Width (mm)||Depth (mm)||Height (mm)||Required clearance

In simple terms the output of the SCH heater or heaters must be greater than the heat losses from the building during periods of cold weather. A small amount of heat is lost through the walls, ceilings and floors with more significant losses through windows and doors.
To estimate the heat loss from your building you may like to use our heat calculation toolHeat Calculator
The estimated heat loss figure is the absolute minimum kW output that you should consider installing. We would suggest adding approximately 50% to this figure to allow for an acceptable warm up time in cold conditions as well as making allowances for exceptional weather conditions and possible errors in the original data used in the estimate.
The next step is to select the output of the heater(s) taking into consideration the height of the suspended ceiling. Use the following table as a guide.
|Model||kW||Built-in Thermostat||Recommended mounting height (m)|
|SCHG-30||3.0||No||2.4 to 3.0|
|SCHG-30T||3.0||Yes||2.4 to 3.0|
|SCHG-45||4.5||No||3.0 to 4.0|
|SCHG-45T||4.5||Yes||3.0 to 4.0|
|SCHG-60||6.0||No||2.4 to 3.0|
|SCHG-60T||6.0||Yes||2.4 to 3.0|
Having established the minimum kW output required and the ouput of the individual heater(s), select the minimum number of heaters needed to meet the kW requirement.
