Industrial Fan Heaters Installed at Allon White Sports Cars in Cranfield, Bedfordshire
BN Thermic industrial fan heaters are hand assembled in the UK and backed with a 5 year warranty
The Project – Allon White Sports Cars
This case study looks at an industrial heating install at Allon White Sports Car’s new premises in Cranfield Bedfordshire. Allon White Sports Cars is an independent car dealership that sells, services and restores high end British sports cars. Matt Bolton and his team at MJ Electrical were tasked with the electrical work on their new workshop unit which included full electrical, heating, ventilation and security systems.
MJ Electrical are a long term customer of BN Thermic and we were kindly asked to specify the heating system for this project. Our brief for the heating system was fairly straight forward – design a space heating system that creates a comfortable working environment for staff as they fix, service and restored luxury sports cars. As we were introducing warm air into a large industrial building, keeping running costs to a minimum was also a big priority. Here’s how it unfolded
The Specification
Using the CAD drawings created by MJ Electrical, we were able to carry out a heat loss calculation on the building and work out how many kWs of heat were required. We were also able to plot where each heater goes onto his CAD drawing.
Our specification:
2 x 20kW Industrial fan heaters
1 x Destratification unit
1 x Speed regulator for destratification unit
1 x 7-day programable thermostat

The Solution – Industrial Fan Heaters
BN Thermic’s industrial fan heaters are designed to heat large buildings making them well suited to this project. The heaters are all hand assembled in the UK, backed with a 5 year warranty and made of durable steel meaning they can withstand accidental knocks. We specified two x 20kW units to be wall mounted at 2.5m as per drawing which will heat the area sufficiently.
The units have built-in contactors meaning they can be daisy chained and easily wired up to one controller. In this case, we specified a 7-day programmable thermostat which keeps running costs to a minimum and allows the end user to pre-warm the garage before staff arrive.
The Solution – Destratification Units
As the garage has a high ceiling (4m to the eaves, 5.5m at the ridge) it was vital we specified a destratification unit. Destratification units are large fans which are suspended from ceilings in tall industrial buildings. As hot air rises and accumulates at high level, the destrat fan will kick in and push that warm air downwards. This in turn limits heat loss through the roof and can save the end user up to 30% off their heating bill.
The MJ Electrical team had also installed solar PV on the roof to make this project as efficient as possible.
Destratification units can save up to 30% off an annual heating bill
A Successful Project
As you can see from the photos the project was successful and expertly installed by the team at MJ Electrical. The heaters will heat the area adequately and the destratification unit will greatly help to reduce the end users heating bill.
