BN Thermic air curtains combating draughts in Building 11
Air Curtains Combat a Draught
Building 11 had an issue with a chilly breeze blowing over the lake, through the frequently opening doors and into the atrium-style reception area. The engineers at BN Thermic were contacted and proposed a pair of 18kW air curtains with each mounted above a double door at around 3m above floor level. The heat output from the air curtains mingling with the cool breeze was sufficient to create a comfortable environment much to the relief of the staff manning the reception desk.
Air Curtain Control Options
The two air curtains are controlled by a single controller which is mounted in a convenient position. The controller itself has a smart modern design and all control connections are by data cable which is easily concealed. In this instance, the controller was a simple device offering manual control with on/off/high/low settings. However, more sophisticated controllers are available including a model incorporating a fully programmable thermostat.
